£4 million funding boost to support homeless people in Haringey
People who are affected by rough sleeping in Haringey will be offered stable and long-term accommodation as the council secures an impressive financial injection of almost £4 million.
Haringey was one of 46 local authorities, housing providers, and charities to secure funding – all of which will contribute to the delivery of 1,230 homes across England.

A significant proportion will go towards increasing the housing stock across the borough – offering people with complex needs a stable home where they can start to rebuild their lives.
The remainder of the funding will deliver 24/7 support with access to specialist teams where people will be supported to address substance dependency, mental health and unmet wellbeing needs - this will be delivered over three years.
Cllr Sarah Williams, Cabinet Member for Housing Services, Private Renters and Planning, said:
“This substantial investment not only underlines our commitment to address and tackle rough sleeping in the borough, but it also signifies a collaborative effort to create lasting solutions for Haringey’s most vulnerable.
“We know how important it is to have a safe place people can call home and through our tailored support, we hope those affected by rough sleeping can return to independent living.
“As we continue this journey to end rough sleeping, this additional funding will significantly change the lives of many – offering tangible change, hope and a path to stability.”
The project forms a key part of the major cross-government’s £2 billion programme to end rough sleeping for good.
This substantial funding is part of the government’s £150 million initiative which aims to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals with a history of rough sleeping and those vulnerable to homelessness.
