SENSATIONAL THAMESIDE CONRAN DESIGNED TIME CAPSULE APARTMENT

FOR SALE IN LONDON’S ICONIC ‘CINNAMON WAREHOUSE’

An apartment within an iconic Conran & Partners designed building, which has been left untouched since it was completed in the 1980s, has been launched to the sales market by esteemed London estate agency Anderson Rose. Available for £1.25 million, the two-bedroom lateral apartment at Cinnamon Wharf provides minimalist design within a beautifully finished, spacious home. Featuring incredible Thameside views of St Saviour’s Dock, the apartment is set within a building steeped in both London’s rich Victorian and design history.

Home to London’s pre-eminent cinnamon storage warehouse in the late 19th Century, as part of London’s pioneering spice trade from the Asian continent, Cinnamon Wharf was the hub of cinnamon production in London during the industrial revolution. Post-industrial Britain, the warehouse was remodelled by multi-award-winning design house Conran & Partners (previously Conran Roche) in the mid 1980s. Pioneered by Sir Terrance Conran, the refurbishment of the warehouse produced the incredible lateral apartments that sit there today, providing seamless design and uninterrupted views of the river Thames.

Sir Terrance Conran was a visionary in the Shad Thames area, where he founded the Design Museum in 1989. Alongside Cinnamon Wharf, Sir Terrance designed and remodelled several buildings in the area including Butler’s Wharf, Saffron Wharf, the Conran Building and four restaurants on the Tower Bridge waterfront with British designer Thomas Heatherwick saying that Conran "moved Britain forward to make it an influence around the world."

Conran’s influence is evident from the entrance lobby with stunning marble floors and walls, mid-century furniture and concierge desk which is manned 24 hours a day. From the lobby, access to the apartment on sale with Anderson Rose is gained via lift to the building’s second floor.
