First Time Buyers urged to make their move to Wollaston ahead of stamp duty increase
Bloor Homes is urging first time buyers to take a look at their options for buying a new home in Wollaston, before the predicted rise in stamp duty tax for first time buyers next Spring.
The threshold was raised by the previous government to allow first time buyers to pay zero stamp duty on purchases of up to £425,000 until March 2025. With the new Labour government indicating that they will not be extending the threshold beyond this date, anyone buying a home for the first time from April 2025 will pay stamp duty tax on properties over the lower threshold of £300,000.
Bloor Homes will pay a 5% deposit on selected plots for buyers wishing to move before Christmas.
With incentives like 5% deposit paid on selected plots at Bloor Homes’ Summers Grange development, the developer is eager to help it’s first-time buyers take advantage of the stamp duty threshold and make their move before it’s too late.
Bloor Homes has built a range of two and three bedroom energy-efficient homes located in Wollaston and ready to move into for Christmas. Ideally positioned for peaceful village living with accessible links to city modernities, Summers Grange is situated in the Nene valley of East Northamptonshire. The development is surrounded by woodland and communal open space with convenient access to the village amenities, and transport links to Bedford, Kettering, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Wellingborough and London also provide easy access for commuters.
Jack Costello, Sales Director for Bloor Homes’ South Midlands Region, said: “We are aware of the impending stamp duty increase and the impact this will have on first time buyers. Therefore, we urge any first time buyers who are interested in moving to Summers Grange to check with their IFA on just how much more they could be expected to pay after the threshold is removed and visit us to find out about how we could help you move in time. Our 5% deposit contribution incentive for example, could help with that initial upfront cost on selected plots.”
Jack continues: “Further to this, the increased energy-efficiency of our homes allows for savings of up to £184 a month on energy bills and eligibility for a green mortgage, increasing the cost-saving benefits of investing in a new-build before the stamp duty increase. We welcome any first-time buyers who want to get on the property ladder in this great location to visit us and explore how we can help make moving before the stamp duty changes a reality.”
Summers Grange is situated on Hookhams Path and is open by appointment only.
