Which hotels have the best duvets for hot weather?

Norvegr has created a super-light, all-natural, luxury duvet which can be experienced at select hotels worldwide. Many guests peel back the cover to find out who makes these unique duvets and become lifelong Norvegr customers

Light as a cloud

The first thing that people notice about Norvegr duvets is how light they are; many disbelieve they will be kept warm by such a light duvet.

“All our customers react to the lightness of the product. It’s so airy and soft, it’s surprising” explains Nils Stene, CEO of Norvegr and the third Stene to sit at the company’s helm.

Bonus tip - avoid high thread count!

Bad news for high thread-count bedding; it’s bad for warm sleepers. It’s well known that synthetic or poor quality bedding restricts air flow, causing sleepers to overheat and wake regularly, but so can a high thread count.

Nils shared this advice with me recently: "We've been taught that the higher the thread count the better the bedding. Yes, it does result in a smooth finish which is important, but a high thread count actually makes the material less breathable and restricts air flow."

"Breathability is hugely important for bedding, especially in the summer, to regulate temperature and prevent mould and mites. I always recommend choosing high quality bedding made from all natural materials, but with a lower thread count so the air can

move throughout.”

“Quality and luxury are crucial, so I suggest a percale weave which feels smooth and crisp and is the most breathable weave."

Nils Stene, CEO

"Our customers invest in their duvets for the best sleep and a breathable cover maximises results. A poor pillowcase or duvet cover will undo all the goodness of a quality down duvet or pillow."
