New projects & 2024 trends from Herringbone

The latest new projects and trends from Herringbone (www.herringbonekitchens.com), the bespoke

cabinet and kitchen designers.

The key trends we’re seeing for 2024:

  • Islands on legs: for 2024 the “furniture” look is taking over from the heavy fitted look in many aspects including the kitchen island

  • Neutral cabinetry colours: earth colours like lime wash, light yellow, pastels instead of cream and greys or just wood is a beautiful design element for 2024

  • Dramatic worktops with softer tones on cabinetry: Think dark, moody, red veined worktops adding intrigue and giving character to a space that can also make the worktop a piece of art

  • Natural oak: This includes natural, stained, detailed or washed wood statement pieces such as islands, dressers or display units to bring warmth, elegance and luxurious textures into the kitchen space

  • Textured glass cabinets: Reeded cabinetry, textured glass and all kinds of vertical textures is a beautiful design element for 2024

  • Freestanding Range Cookers: the Range can be a beautiful and classic piece of furniture that ages well and stands the test of time

  • Minimal wall units, open shelving is preferred: More hidden and simple storage is becoming popular in 2024. Floor to ceiling units and lower runs of cabinets are being designed with clever storage in mind

We love how the open plan space and kitchen flows so seamlessly in this annexe near Tunbridge Wells. The bright open space works well for socialising as well as everyday life. The large doors to the garden help bring the outdoors in and works incredibly well with the colour choices.

The bespoke design is clever on storage and worktop space. The whitewash kitchen island takes centre stage in this space and the one-wall kitchen with its lime green colour is a perfect light colour combination that creates a lovely atmosphere.

The cabinets and drawers are designed in our Westgate Style and the Island is our Applegate Style designed with fluted or ribbed detail.

We love this stunning deep red kitchen, it feels so inviting. This one-wall kitchen packs a punch in terms of storage and colour but also maximises the space. On either side of the cooker sit two floor to ceiling cabinets which hold the fridge and a lovely pantry larder.. The long island is perfect for sitting at on a day-to-day basis but also when entertaining.

The cabinets are designed in our Westminster Shaker Style and painted in a lovely deep red, which changes in tone depending on how the natural light hits. We love how the real marble on the island, next to the cooker and the splashback over the Range Cooker compliments the deep red so well.

The bespoke design is clever on storage and worktop space with a long run of lower cabinet units where the induction hub and extrator fan are also situated. On the wall side is a long run of floor to ceiling cabinets with fridge freezer housing and double ovens as well as wine storage.

The cabinets are designed in our Westminster Style and painted in a lovely dark blue whilst the island is a gorgeous white, complimenting each other nicely.

We love how this kitchen in Beckenham, London, is designed to fit with the character of the client’s house. This lovely space is centered around the L-shaped kitchen island creating a lovely open plan entertainment area. The main run of lower cabinets hold the Range Cooker hob and has a concealed extractor fan above it, with clever upper cabinet storage. Along the wall to the right sits floor to ceiling cabinets surrounding

the fridge freezer.

The kitchen is our classic Westminster Style and works well with the family’s needs. The island offers a lot of storage and the drawers allow for this to be even deeper.

The space has great light which means that the white colour of the kitchen cabinets reflects it into the open plan space, whilst the blue island changes colour as the day goes on.
